Within 6 months of launching their Renoir, LG launched their ‘flagship phone for 2009’, the LG KM 900 Arena. The feature that sets the LG KM 900 Arena apart from its contemporaries is its ‘3D-UI’ or what is also referred to as the ‘S Class UI’. The 3D user interface of the Arena presents the phone’s menu wrapped around a cubical layout, which the user can thumb through left and right, giving him access to four customizable home screens. These home screens can be used to access music player commands, picture galleries, various email in-boxes, web browsers, etc.
The stream-lined navigation facility offering of the UI makes it possible to eliminate unnecessary commands and convoluted steering around the menu. The LG KM 900 Arena comes with a dedicated AMD graphics processor, engineered and installed specifically to support the S-Class UI, thus eliminating the possibility of interruption and slowed down navigation. The 3.0” TFT touch screen supports a WVGA (Wide VGA) display resolution equivalent to 800 x 480 pixels and 16 Million colours. The screen has an inbuilt proximity sensor supporting the auto-turn off function.
The storage capacity of the phone is enviable. With an 8GB internal memory and additional card slot that can take up to a 32 GB microSD card, the phone can be a store house of data and music! The LG KM 900 Arena is a quad band handset usable globally. It incorporates 3G network and GPRS, EDGE and Wi-Fi technologies. The LG KM 900 Arena comes with a 5 MP camera (Schneider-Kreuznach optics), geo-tagging and image stabilization features. Besides regular recording, the video camera of the LG KM 900 Arena provides for recording in slow-motion too!
